Almost Retired Kits

I created another two pages! Woot! I am on a roll!

During the height of my digiscrapping frenzy, I got to hoard kits. Of course it is every scrapper's guilty pleasure to hoard kits that they forget to use. I am guilty as charged with that. So since I was on a scrapping leave for a few months, I was out of any CT and now that I feel like the "burnout" has gone, I get to use the kits that I have hoarded in the past!

Here they are and the photos are linked to the gallery for proper credits.

Happy Scrapping and have a fruitful week ahead!

Smile

When you are a mother, your focus diverts to your child and when you get a hobby, most of your creations are related to your child.

Finally I was able to scrap! Yay! There are a lot of things that I want to do in the digiworld and I am excited. This morning, I was able to make this page, inspired by my child of course.

I am currently making another page later today and when I am done, I will surely publish it.

Boy Kits are Hard to Find

In the land of digital scrapbooking, boy themed kits are hard to find. The perfect ones that is. That's why I was so happy when Aaron, a.k.a. Sir Scrapalot has created a Boy Kit for all of us to enjoy and play with! Take a look at this preview. Now isn't that great? It looks like a simple kit but the colors are radiantly bursting only by using the primary colors as his palette. Lovely indeed! And so here's what I came up with.

Really it's a fun kit with 17 papers and a complete Alpha too! You can click on the preview to grab the kit from the store or you can simply just click here. It's On Sale too!

Our Weekend Memoirs

Early morning today, while I was awake for more or less 20 minutes, my twins Caitlin and Caillou ganged up on me saying, "Pichur! Pichur!" If you don't live with them you won't understand what they wanted but since I am their mother I got up and took out my camera because they wanted me to take their pictures! It was only 7 in the morning and Caitlin still has drool stains on the sides of her mouth but they're both perky and determined to pose for some photo ops. So I fixed Caitlin's hair, wiped her drool stains and called on her twin brother to "get the pose started." Here are their photos.

You can call them twins. I want to call them camwhores. Because they are, and I think that's fun!

Can You Calculate Love?

Yesterday, a friend and I were talking about love. We were discussing about love in general and we came up with various definitions of what love is and how it is expressed. To make it short, we were just two teachers bored and feeling fuzzy because of the cold weather.

Anyway, so can you calculate love? It actually depends on a person, all I know is that we all yearn for something that cannot be calculated. Something immeasurable. Something unconditional. An example is the love of a mother to a child. A loyal wife of a convicted murderer, a dedicated husband to his mentally ill wife, even a father who's far away from his family. There are of course other types of love that others describe to be perfectly carved to something that's like a fairytale. Ah, love! I am caught by the upcoming love month so you have to bear my cheesiness.

The digiland is also caught up with the love bug too because most kits are all ready for Valentines Day. Here is an example from Sir Scrapalot of Polkadot Plum.

This kit Arithmetic of Love is lovely to play with because as you choose the elements you use, you will also be able to ponder on how 1 + 1 = 2 or how love is measured. Look at what I did to this kit.
That's a photo of my son with my dad in one of our family reunions during the holidays. TTFN!

OWM #1

Our Weekend Memoirs This is my first time to join this specific type of meme and I can see that I will be joining this every weekend because I like going down to memory lane. This week, I was able to realize how I have grown - scrapping wise. Back in those days when I was curious how digiscrapping is done, I researched, sought help from my friends how to manipulate Photoshop, and scavenged digiland for freebies. I have not spent a penny during my first year in scrapping because I am spendthrift and downright stingy. Haha.

This was my first ever digiscrap layout. The photo was me and my friends Grace, Pam and Mohd. Looking at this makes me smile. Here I used some buttons, a tag and a prong. I know it's not good.

This was my second attempt at digiscrapping. The photo is of my twins Caitlin and Caillou. As you can see, I was struggling.

And now, here's my recent page and I love this! I think this will be on my list of favorites. Back in April 2008, I didn't know how to give credits to the designers but as months gone by, I have learned. There are still a lot to learn about digiscrapping and I am embracing these one by one. Project 365 Days 1-4

Digipeople have been yakking about Project365 on twitter and most of my friends have been wondering what this is all about. Literally, Project365 is about taking one photo a day and that would sum up to 365 days in a year (except on a leap year of course). So this year, I am going to attempt doing Project365 and here's what I have done so far.

DAY ONE.
I call this The Dolls.

DAY TWO.
This is called THE NEW YEAR LEFTOVERS.

DAY THREE.
Now I was able to create a layout using my day three photo. I call this U & ME. Click on the image for full credits.

DAY FOUR.
This photo was taken inside my classroom and I named it CHRISTMAS AIN'T OVER.

I already have my Day 5 photo but I haven't uploaded it yet. Watch out for it. Just so you know, in all fairness to me, I do not have a high end camera but I try hard to take on something worthy to look at. Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway here.

Wowza!

Ola!

I have three blogs, none if which is updated regularly. I feel like a sleaze.
Anyway, another virtual non paying job has been assigned to me yesterday to which I am quite proud of because at least now I can say that my hard work has been paid off at least. I am going to spearhead the CT for a funky and kind designer. Think I can do the job? I am hoping with all of my fingers crossed. See, I have lost my scrapping spunk when my hard drive died and I am terribly sorry to the teams I am in. I am currently collecting kits and making new memories with my camera just so I can comply with my team requirements. I will get my mojo back after our Parents Day tomorrow and Christmas Party the day after that. It's a hectic week but I am glad we're heading near for the Christmas break.

I also have lost my voice. 'Kay, not totally, I am about to lose it. I think I am going to have goiter or laryngitis from all that shouting in class whether I am teaching or not. But still, I loooooove my job and the kids of course. I won't trade it for anything as long as the pay's good. *teehee* I am also excited for the kids' party because I love throwing parties for children as they are very gracious guests. Seeing them smile with joy will surely make everything worthwhile.

Let me show my favorite layout to date.
I have lost the original (bigger) file for this one (and every single layout I have made) without having it printed and that makes me feel a bummer. One day when I am not lazy enough, I will then go print those that I have uploaded to the galleries, I'll make a way. Click on the image for full credits.

Lastly, I am going to have THIS HOODIE soon! My Scottish friend Gavin bought it for me as a Christmas cum birthday cum New Year's gift for me. I am waiting for my hoodie to arrive and I am sooooo thrilled! I think I have seen a dog tag somewhere which is Team Jacob themed but I cannot find it anymore - and I want that too. Just in case you, Gavin, are reading this, make this on your list too! Hahaha! So that's all for now. I miss you ladies who are in my team. I know I have been passive for almost a month. Love you all, and to my readers too. :)

My Hybrid Card!

After my post yesterday, I decided not to procrastinate and tried printing my first hybrid card. I think it's good for a first timer. I am sending the card to my BFF Karen and I'm making another one for my other BFF Pam because I know she'll give me a cold shoulder when she doesn't receive any. Haha. Anyway, here it is.

Like I said, I am planning to create more hybrid cards in the future and I have seen some kits that's perfect for it!

Missing MLAS

MLAS is still down today and I miss being there really. I've been checking out the site from time to time and it's kinda frustrating to see that the server's down. Well anyway, I hope that the site will get back before I make my 10th layout. :D

Well, I've been talking about doing hybrid for a couple of weeks now and I am proud to say that I HAVE FINALLY DONE IT! Yay for me! I have not printed it yet but the card template's all done. So for now, I know you wouldn't call it hybrid. LOL. Well, not yet! But in a couple of hours it will be I tell ya! I love making cards especially now that I now know how I could utilize the digital kits that I have.

Well it's Monday once again and it's time for another......

Where Was I?

Aloha! Look! Someone's slacking with her blog posts that she almost leave August without a single entry.

I mentioned about doing hybrid on my last post and since then I had been hoarding for hybrid freebies in various digiscrap sites. I wasn't that successful with the hoarding thing because there aren't many freebies out there. But anyway, I am going to start with card making because that's the easiest thing to do. By September, I will be sending cards to some friends and I will definitely show some photos about this hybrid project. Besides, I miss sending letters to friends and I meant the personalized ones not the email type, I know that you know what I mean.

Moving on, being in a Creative Team (CT) really broadened my horizons in the digiworld. A couple of years ago (okay make it two at the most, I'm only exaggerating) I was only hoarding freebies and did not care whether to give credits to the designers or not. You can see that on my previous layouts posted on my other blog. I only scrapped for my own pleasure not even considering the feelings of the people who designed the kits that I used. So anyway, not long ago, I learned how to give credits to the designers. It was kind of a struggle for me because I use different kits from different designers but I learned to manage everything by opening a notepad while creating a layout. And once I am satisfied with the positioning or choice of embellishment (or frame, paper, the works!), I click on the TOU and draft away the credit/s to mention. I am still learning about giving credits to the people though as I believe that everything is a whole lot of learning process.

Moving on again, I also seldom create a layout using other photos than that of my kids' but thanks to the challenges from MLAS, I was able to learn, or let's say given the inspiration, to create a layout using photos of other people. Here's one example.

You can click on the image to see the full credits of the layout. The people sleeping in the photo are my friends back in college and one is our college professor. We were attending a seminar when this photo was taken and as you can see, we're all sleeping. It was fun recalling this moment, and I really miss these guys. And just this afternoon, while I am planning to post this layout, I looked for the designer of the kit that I used because I had this kit for more or less 5 months already just to tell her that hey, I'm still using her little freebie. Only to find out that she has a store at MLAS! I was happy and dumbfounded at the same time, but it felt so good to know that we're at least rubbing elbows in the forum. Thanks so much Lisa Aldrich (Digital Designs by Lisa) for this really stunning 100% Boy mini kit freebie.

Okay so that's all for now. I will try to post more often.

This kit is called Evening Breeze and you can snag it from there. I also used the photo mask and glitter from Viva Artistry. The photo is my sleeping son Caillou which was taken during their 2nd bithday celebration of his twin sister Caitlin last December 26, 2008. I hope you like it!

Scrapping Mondaze

I am joining this Scrapping Meme called Scrapping Mondaze because I have to have a drive to scrap since I will be sort of forced to create layouts from time to time. I want to create lots of photobooks this year because I always believe that pictures are good investments. So here's my first entry for this meme.

This is a photo of my pupils last year and this was taken after their graduation rites. These kids are brilliant, playful and outgoing, don't ask me about their stage mothers. LOL. I am not that confident with this layout because this is a product of my speed scrapping. But then again, I think this is presentable enough. Happy scrapping!

Hello everyone! Here's another layout I made from Sir Scrapalot's kit called Sweet Sugar Love. So what makes this layout special? Nothing except for the fact that I am creating layouts from one of my favorite designers who also hired me to be a part of his very own creative team. Isn't that great? I am so thrilled and now I am going to use his kits with much dedication and passion.
