OWM #2

Our Weekend Memoirs

Early morning today, while I was awake for more or less 20 minutes, my twins Caitlin and Caillou ganged up on me saying, "Pichur! Pichur!" If you don't live with them you won't understand what they wanted but since I am their mother I got up and took out my camera because they wanted me to take their pictures! It was only 7 in the morning and Caitlin still has drool stains on the sides of her mouth but they're both perky and determined to pose for some photo ops. So I fixed Caitlin's hair, wiped her drool stains and called on her twin brother to "get the pose started." Here are their photos.

You can call them twins. I want to call them camwhores. Because they are, and I think that's fun!

...Inspirations

These past days I have been busy with this new site I'm in! :) I am managing the CT there so everything's good (as far as I am concerned! :p). I still have not started rubbing elbows with the CT members because we didn't have internet for more than a week. Anyway, I am welcoming you all to join us at....
We are optimistic with this new venture and I support all these ladies I am working with now. They have been so kind to me and supports me in my craft as well. I am so proud to be with this team and working with all of them. We have challenges going on and though we're relatively new in digiland, I guarantee you all that you will have fun with us when you join our family.

Can You Calculate Love?

Yesterday, a friend and I were talking about love. We were discussing about love in general and we came up with various definitions of what love is and how it is expressed. To make it short, we were just two teachers bored and feeling fuzzy because of the cold weather.

Anyway, so can you calculate love? It actually depends on a person, all I know is that we all yearn for something that cannot be calculated. Something immeasurable. Something unconditional. An example is the love of a mother to a child. A loyal wife of a convicted murderer, a dedicated husband to his mentally ill wife, even a father who's far away from his family. There are of course other types of love that others describe to be perfectly carved to something that's like a fairytale. Ah, love! I am caught by the upcoming love month so you have to bear my cheesiness.

The digiland is also caught up with the love bug too because most kits are all ready for Valentines Day. Here is an example from Sir Scrapalot of Polkadot Plum.

This kit Arithmetic of Love is lovely to play with because as you choose the elements you use, you will also be able to ponder on how 1 + 1 = 2 or how love is measured. Look at what I did to this kit.
That's a photo of my son with my dad in one of our family reunions during the holidays. TTFN!

My First Freebie!

Don't we all love templates? I for one is a self confessed template addict. They come in handy and at times when all my mojos are lost, I pick a template, clip the photos and papers and voila! A neat page in minutes! Then there are times when a template inspires me to create a layout, I call them my version of mojo spark. There are tons of templates in my stash and some of which are those that I have not used. To make it short, I start my layout by opening a template. That's what I do. And more often than not, I was able to create my own page by not using the template that I have opened but by modifying it to make it mine. If that's a bad thing, tell me.

Anyhoo, I was able to create my own template last night while I was busy thinking about the paper I am going to submit tomorrow. Well that's me, the more I cram the better I create something though that doesn't happen all the time. So here's the deal, I have a free template for all of you to snag with and I want you to create a page out of this and then inform me what you came up with. Here it is, and just click on the picture for your link. I appreciate a simple thank you too. :) Have fun!

P.S.
I haven't used this template yet so I hope you'll surprise me with your own version. :)
Thank God it's Friday!

OWM #1

Our Weekend Memoirs This is my first time to join this specific type of meme and I can see that I will be joining this every weekend because I like going down to memory lane. This week, I was able to realize how I have grown - scrapping wise. Back in those days when I was curious how digiscrapping is done, I researched, sought help from my friends how to manipulate Photoshop, and scavenged digiland for freebies. I have not spent a penny during my first year in scrapping because I am spendthrift and downright stingy. Haha.

This was my first ever digiscrap layout. The photo was me and my friends Grace, Pam and Mohd. Looking at this makes me smile. Here I used some buttons, a tag and a prong. I know it's not good.

This was my second attempt at digiscrapping. The photo is of my twins Caitlin and Caillou. As you can see, I was struggling.

And now, here's my recent page and I love this! I think this will be on my list of favorites. Back in April 2008, I didn't know how to give credits to the designers but as months gone by, I have learned. There are still a lot to learn about digiscrapping and I am embracing these one by one. I'm in Mommy Moments too

mommy moments

This is my first time to join a meme this year and for this blog as well so happy new whatever it is that you call it! *teehee* So for my pilot post for this meme, I am going to kick off my New Year's List but I don't have an appropriate photo for it so I am just jotting down the list, here they are.

1. Plan my life carefully using my newly bought planner, write on my journal, and blog often.
2. Do not procrastinate, do my work ahead of time.
3. Spend time with the kids and treat them to an out of town trip at least once this year.
4. Have my own "me" time by treating myself to regular massages and some good ol' facial.
5. Try not to speak for a whole day for at least once every two months.
6. Enroll my first born to a swimming clinic this summer to help his asthma problem.
7. Save save save not only for the rainy days but also save for the "don't ever touch" stuffs -kids' education.
8. Read books again. Invest on them.
9. Aloy will turn 6 on September and I am planning to celebrate his birthday with a Jollibee party.
10. Continue helping others by giving blood regularly.
11. Love back those who love me.
12. Always, always count my blessings.

So there goes my list! Some may be superficial while some may look easy to achieve. What's your list?

Project 365 Days 1-4

Digipeople have been yakking about Project365 on twitter and most of my friends have been wondering what this is all about. Literally, Project365 is about taking one photo a day and that would sum up to 365 days in a year (except on a leap year of course). So this year, I am going to attempt doing Project365 and here's what I have done so far.

DAY ONE.
I call this The Dolls.

DAY TWO.
This is called THE NEW YEAR LEFTOVERS.

DAY THREE.
Now I was able to create a layout using my day three photo. I call this U & ME. Click on the image for full credits.

DAY FOUR.
This photo was taken inside my classroom and I named it CHRISTMAS AIN'T OVER.

I already have my Day 5 photo but I haven't uploaded it yet. Watch out for it. Just so you know, in all fairness to me, I do not have a high end camera but I try hard to take on something worthy to look at. Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway here.

Hello 2010 Digiland!

Happy New Year to all of you! Look who's slacking? Me of course! And there are tons to do for this first month of the year. How are your holidays? Did you have fun with your loved ones like I did? I'm sure you all ate too much like me so aside from trying to keep our resolutions for this year, we are also in a month of dieting.

Anyway, I am saddened to announce that I left Scrap That Idea's Creative Team. There are a lot of things going on right now with my personal life that I do not feel that I'd be competent enough to give the store my hundred percent commitment. And because parting is such a sweet sorrow, I am giving away Mel Hains' Things That Go kit as a parting gift. Here is a preview.

If you like this colorful kit for boys, just post a comment here in this post until January 9 (Saturday) and I will make my son draw lots for the lucky winner. I will post the winner on January 10. Goodluck!

For those who wants to scrap a layout but seems to have lost mojo because of some slacking during the holidays you might want to check out on Anita's Monthly Challenge at DSC. This challenge just kicked off this month and for January, DSC is challenging you to create a layout using a black or dark background and using a black and white picture. Those who will join the challenge will get a $2 at Anita's Shop and Mr. Random will also give out $5 to a lucky winner. Head on to Anita's Monthly Challenge to get your January freebie (a paperpack) too! So there's nothing to lose, it's a win-win situation. You get a freebie, will be able to create a layout, and you'll also have a coupon! What are you waiting for? Join us at Digital Scrap Cafe!
