Bouncing Back from the Loss

The EHD is dead. Really dead. It's gone. Goodbye.

Good thing I bounced back easily. This is what I am thankful for myself and God for giving me this optimism in life. I sulked for a while thinking of the memories I have lost with those photos but then I realized that I can make new memories with the kids. Life is still good and I always believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe it's God's way of telling me to lay low on scrapping and photoshoping and concentrate on my real life work. But of course I won't be leaving any of my CT but I know for sure that this will be the start of a new and organized ME in the digi world. I regret to have lost those files but it is time to move on and here are some things that I have learned from this horrendous experience:

1. Always back up your files and with this I mean burning those photos or kits to a CD. You can never rely on hard drives, HDD, HD, or EHD. I still don't know the difference anyway, everything will still corrupt sooner or later.

2. Print those photos and forget about storing them for "a while."

3. Store your files online. I know a few free online storage like mediafire, box.net, 4shared, photobucket, etc. These can help you at least retrieve your files when they get lost like what happened to mine. As for your kits, make them private to avoid digital piracy.

4. Don't be dependent on gadgets like hard drives, USBs, etc. Never let them be your masters. When they die, throw them. That's what I'll do with mine.
So I hope these tips will help you from experiencing the same nightmare that I had.

Oh, how sad...sorry for your loss. I know that I would be sad and angry. *sniff, sniff*
